Mission - Spread Culture and Transmit Friendship

Nishan House was first established by Shandong Friendship Publishing House at the foot of Mount Nishan, the birthplace of Confucius. Nishan House has since served as an important platform to collect and exhibit the excellent achievement of human civilizations and to promote the cultural exchange between China and other countries. By now, there have been 25 Nishan House settled in 14 countries and more than 10,000 books went abroad thanks to Nishan House.

By 2020, Nishan House will set up 40 branches globally and plan to set up more Nishan House along the ‘the Belt and Road’ countries, for example, Nishan House in Iran has entered the final preparation stage already.

Launching the Nishan House in U.S.

Nishan International (formerly Nishan Press, Inc.) is dedicated to promoting cultural exchanges between China and U.S. After years of effort, Nishan House finally took residence at Los Angeles Public Library on May 28 2015 thanks to Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles. Nishan House was also set up in East Asian Library of UCLA, Hanhai Studio in Burbank, State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Zhongguancun Hanhai Technology Park in Silicon Valley.

Los Angeles Public Library

The Los Angeles Public Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, books and technology that enrich, educate and empower every individual in city's diverse communities. With more than six million volumes, it serves the largest population of any publicly funded library system in the United States. The residence of Nishan House in Los Angeles Public Library represents rising awareness of Chinese classic literature being accepted by American mainstream readers. As the first Nishan House in West Coast, we have more than 300 types of book and over 500 titles to demonstrate the Chinese Confucian heritage to U.S. readers. Nishan House is now a highlight in the Los Angeles cultural scene and is frequently visited by locals and visitors.

East Asian Library of UCLA

The Richard C. Rudolph East Asian Library was established in 1948 to support UCLA's teaching and research programs in East Asian studies. The library selects, organizes, and makes available Chinese-, Japanese-, and Korean-language materials, and its staff provides reference and instruction services to optimize access to and use of the collections. Nishan House in East Asian Library of UCLA owns hundreds of titles to enrich literary and academic collection.

Hanhai Studio in Burbank

Hanhai Studio is the first Hollywood-Chinese creative production and entertainment technology incubator. The cooperation between Nishan House and Hanhai Studio aims to create a zero-distance platform between Chinese creative companies and Hollywood through regular training, incubation and investment and, thus, promote intra- and inter-regional arts, culture, creativity and technology development.

State University of New York at Stony Brook

Nishan House in SUNY Stony Brook, first one in the East Coast, consists valuable collections and books such as Shandong the Magnificent. State University of New York at Stony Brook is a public sea-grant and space-grant research university located in Stony Brook, New York in the United States. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Stony Brook is one of America’s most dynamic public universities and a center of academic excellence and an internationally recognized research institution that offers all students a world-class education.

Zhongguancun Hanhai Technology Park in Silicon Valley

The second Nishan House in Hanhai Technology Park system was unveiled in San Francisco by Former Minister of Culture, Meng Wang. Mr. Wang expected to see the booming development on exchange culture derived from the Nishan & Hanhai platform.Zhongguancun Hanhai Technology Park is Silicon Valley's first Chinese backed and developed high-tech park. Silicon Valley is a world-renowned magnet for industry leading technology companies and high-end technical talent.

Nishan House in Los Angeles Public Library ---- Launch and Grand Opening

The launch ceremony of Nishan House in Los Angeles was successfully held at Los Angeles Public Library in May 2015. Deputy Consul-General of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles Lushan Sun, Congresswoman Judy Chu, City Librarian of the Los Angeles Public Library John F. Szabo, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles Zhaohe Che, Chairman of Shandong Publishing Group Zhihua Zhang, and President of Chinese American Educational Foundation Simon Wen Shao joined hundreds of distinguished guests at the launch ceremony. The event was widely reported by local and overseas news outlets including Xinhua News, Sina and Phoenix TV.
